strangest experience
A very small incident which falls in a grayscale between funny and mysterious but till date remains unexplained.
I have been a HUGE movies fan. There haven't been many good/bad/average movies that I may have missed out on. Contributing to which, ofcourse I had a movie collection that I took pride in. This comprised of approximately 1500 flicks most of which were rated very highly. These were stored in a 1TB external HDD and just in case, I had a separate backup in my laptop as well.
Now, this happened the day we went to watch The Conjuring. While driving back home, my friends and I started the discussion about supernatural spirits and ghosts and since I've never believed in them, I went on and on to give various movie references on how and why I felt that nothing like them exists. To this one of my friends jokingly said "the day some ghost wipes away your movie collection, then you'll realize their existence"
I reached home and as a part of my routine, torrented a few movies and dozed off.
I wake up the next morning, and find that the torrents are seeding and hence look for the movies in their output folders. But here's the funny thing: none of those movies actually got downloaded. After a few minutes of useless searching in various folders, I decide to plug in my HDD. And thats when I was blown away. The movie folder was gone. It was as if someone had deleted it. Wait a minute! If its deleted, I can restore it. Recuva to the rescue. I had been using this software for ages successfully to recover all my deleted files but that day it didn't show my folder as deleted. It was as if the folder never existed. After an hour of juggling between recuva, refreshes and folder options, I decided to backup my data using my laptop. And yes. You guessed it. The backup wasn't there too. Poof!
My room was locked. The hard disk we are talking about was safe in my cupboard and my laptop is password protected. And to top it all, I'm a sleeper who wakes up at the drop of a pin so it was definitely not someone who walked in my room.
I'm getting goosebumps as I write this.
